FTP stands for File Transfer Protocol. Using an FTP client is a method to upload, download, and manage files on your server.

\n1) Login to your Shricloud Account<\/a>
\n\u200b
\n2) Access control panel
\n\u200b
\n\u200b<\/a>3) Once in control panel, look Under Files and click FTP Accounts
\n\u200b<\/b><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

4) Once in the FTP Accounts page, you can add an FTP account<\/a> or Configure an FTP Client.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

*When adding a FTP user, the default directory path<\/b> will be the domain you choose in the drop down and the ‘username’ you are creating. If you need your FTP user to access a specific directory<\/b>, be sure to backspace out the directory to be ‘exactly’ what you wish the FTP user to access. <\/b> Otherwise by default it will add a directory of the user in the given domain folder.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Since the purpose of this tutorial is to show you how to configure an FTP client<\/b>, we\u2019re going to do that.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

5) Scroll down<\/b> where it says Special FTP Accounts. We\u2019re going to click Configure FTP Client<\/b> for our \u201cyousupp,\u201d which is our main account.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

After we click that, we\u2019ll get the following Configuration Files for each program;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

6) Select the program<\/b> you want to use and follow the instructions<\/b> linked above.<\/div>\n

\nFor our example website, we choose FileZilla and imported the (for Windows) FTP Configuration File on a Mac and it worked just fine. In a matter of seconds, we had access to FTP and were able to begin uploading.
